All good things must come to an end…

Yuri!!! on ICE is like Mystic Messenger: even non-players know what’s going on. My Twitter timeline explodes every Thursday with live tweets, RT’s, etc. After all, I wouldn’t be reminded that it has started airing already if not for the YOI tweets.
The story follows Katsuki Yuuri from the lowest up to the highest points of his life and skating career, including having his skater cru— idol being his coach. The best thing about this series is that when you think that the previous episode surprised you, the next episode will surprise you more. It just keeps on getting better and better.
While the fanservice takes the most points from me, I love how it portrays the struggles of the characters in a realistic way. Obviously, I’m rooting for Viktor and Yuuri, but the story makes me want to support the other skaters. They may be oddballs, brimming with confidence, but each of them is equally passionate about their sport. My other faves would be Minami and Phitchit – they are super duper cute balls of sunshine.
Another thing to love about YOI is how subtle they can be at times that you’d have to read between the lines. There are some vague scenes, like that scene in ep 7, which can be left to the interpretation of the viewers. Almost like, the people behind the series seem to be dropping a lot of hints, but also leaving other things unsaid. And I like it that way.
The show shows a lot of performances accompanied by the various type of music. This is my favorite playlist on Spotify at the moment with the Theme of King J.J. as the most played song. I can’t help it! The song’s so catchy! It’s super J.J. www
Meanwhile, Stay Close to Me takes the special mention especially after reading the translation. (｡ŏ﹏ŏ) /clutches heart
With all the subtle hints I probably missed in the earlier episodes, I think Yuri!!! on ICE warrants a re-watch! I can’t get enough of this series. (๑´ლ`๑)
