Quoted from MAL:
According to IT Media, Tokyu Railway and National Institute of Informatics will carry out a PR experiment of Augmented Reality (AR) tied-up with Dennou Coil and Doraemon. They will plant “Meta Bug pin” around Shibuya station and users look for them by iPhone application. If you collect all the Meta Bugs, you can exchange it with a meal ticket.
The project is a part of Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)’s “e-space Demonstration Project”.
According to Sankei newspaper, METI collaborated with VOCALOID Hatsune Miku to promote the recycling campaign of mobile phones.

Hatsune Miku sings “Tansu Keitai Atsume-tai no Uta” composed by the head of Environment Recycling Office and the mp3 file is available in the official website for downloading.
So high-tech. 😀 What can you expect anyway with Japan? And they used Dennou Coil, Doraemon, and even Hatsune Miku to make it more appealing to its citizens.
